Tutor Certification

For this cross-campus collaboration, my colleague and I developed a project overview statement and work breakdown structure to guide the creation of a college-wide training program that fulfilled tutor certification requirements. We presented our process at the 2015 Florida College Learning Center Association Conference.

 

New Staff Onboarding

For this campus project, I led a team that moved new staff onboarding materials into a Canvas course. After defining our learning objectives, we designed modules and assessments to meet the needs of specific groups of staff (e.g., math and science tutors, writing tutors, and front desk staff) to prepare them for working with students and for beginner tutor certification.

Revised Marketing Materials

As part of HCC’s One College initiative, I served as the liaison between the five Academic Success Centers and HCC’s Marketing Department to develop revised promotional graphics and materials (e.g., a logo, postcards) and a shared website.

 

Revised Hiring Process

In response to changes to new hiring protocol, I served as the Academic Success Center liaison to Human Resources, working with them to create pooled positions for all tutoring positions to advertise on the job site.
